A Place to Grow and Develop

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

This is a brilliant opportunity for you to progress your career in planning policy in a more senior position. Brent has a positive attitude to planning policy and shaping the future development of the borough to accommodate its growing, diverse population. It has recently adopted its Local Plan, so the current focus of the team is on developing masterplans and supplementary planning documents supporting the Plan’s policies.

You will work with colleagues, communities, and partners to deliver the Plan’s vision and policies. You will also have the potential to develop yourself and junior colleagues by overseeing their work.

The Person

You will be an enthusiastic person with a track record of delivery within planning policy. You must be positive about the role that planning can have in improving the quality of life of the borough’s residents, business prospects, and the quality of the environment.

You should be good at and enjoy actively collaborating with other people and have a pragmatic approach that focuses on achieving positive outcomes.
