Main duties of the job

Initial work will focus on building, and establishing the service across the region. Candidates must therefore have developed skills in clinical leadership and strategy implementation, and be capable of shaping the service delivery model alongside their MDT colleagues. There will also be the expectation that you will be involved in and support others in clinical governance, outcome measurement and service related research.

In this role you will be delivering a specialist weight management service at level 3 to children, young people, and their families. This will involve delivering a range of psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions at several levels and across systems. This will initially include some lower level group work alongside more specialist assessment and intervention work.

However, going forward we will also be seeking funding for an Assistant psychologist who would work with the Clinical Psychologist to provide lower level group input. A small amount of time within the full time role will be allocated to a speciality chosen by the successful candidate. This is to enable, and encourage, continuous development and/or pursuance of specific areas of personal interest within Child psychology. Examples maybe Generic Child Health Psychology, Research, Training, Child Learning Disability.
