The Principle Clinical Psychologists Take The Governance Leads For

This role involves working together to enhance the capacity and flexibility of the leadership team with the aim maintaining clinical governance throughout CAMHS and contributing to the development of an outstanding service. The clinical leadership team is currently comprised of three Principle Clinical Psychologists and one Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Early Years Core CAMHS, Neurodevelopment and Psychological Therapy

Middle Childhood/Adolescence Core CAMHS and Psychological Therapy

Crisis, Enhanced Treatment and CYP Community Eating Disorders

With each lead offering clinical work within their pathway of interest and skill set, whilst supporting the others with ideas and whole service initiatives.

This fourth post will work with the leadership team when joint governance is required, and will have a specific strategic oversight for vulnerable children or Children in Special Circumstances (i.e. Children in Care and within Youth Justice Service) in relation to the national agenda. The 8b role will involve developing specialist models of consultation, formulation, supervision, and overall team practice. The clinical leadership team you will ensures a high level of mutual support and supervision in addition to furthering service training needs in an evidenced way. This role is the exciting broader service initiative of rolling out team training in the AMBIT approach, utilising mentalisation-based techniques within multiagency networks.

The CAMHS Looked after and Adopted Children’s team is very well established and resourced with a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable clinicians. The service provides consultation, assessment, and therapy for looked after and adopted children, and children on Special Guardship Orders across the District. This package of care incorporates support to parents, carers and the network of professionals involved. Multi-agency working, co-ordination of pathways and thinking and planning with our partners in children’s social care and commissioning will be key in the 8b role.
