Role
My client, a leading developer for the extra care sector is looking to add a Principal Architectural Technologist to the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with design team members, controlling and reviewing architectural designs. Controlling build specifications as well as producing and managing concept designs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for appraising building /site suitability for purchase as well as freezing construction design and sign-off. Reviewing existing and proposed care facilities, residential or void properties for refurbishment, adaption and reconfiguration.

Duties
- Ensuring Designs are fit for Purpose
- Value engineering
- Liaise with Senior Management Team to deliver company and group objectives
- Oversee delivery of Construction pipeline
- Manage ’C’ drawing sign off/agreement.
- Liaising with registered/ care providers
- Management of design team activity
- Project co-ordination with other design teams and external consultants.
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology - if latter must have experience working with in RIBA stage 0-5
- Proficient in drawing /reporting using software commonly used in architectural design studios
- Experience and knowledge of Building Control and Building Regulations;
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in design role
- Experience in residential / healthcare design sector
- Associate or Chartered member of C.I.A.T.
- HND or HNC in Construction or Building Studies is desirable but not essential
- Project Delivery Experience (RIBA Stages 2-5)
- Construction Detailing and Methods
- Sketch-Up and Presentations
- Able to value engineer projects
