JOB PURPOSE

To manage third party operated transportation activities, making sure SLAs are maintained and financial targets are met. Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders; drive continuous improvement. To manage a team of 4 based in Hong Kong and London.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage transportation service providers making sure that the deliveries from/to various Burberry locations are made in a timely manner and withing expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Ensure high standards of the services are provided by the 3rd party service providers by making sure performance reports are provided and any improvements/actions are addressed on time.
  • Drive continuous improvements across all Transportation areas and ensure the same high standards are maintained by the 3rd party.
  • Control the cost of transportation by daily review of operations and exception management.
  • Build yearly budget and financial forecasts with financial partner.
  • Participate and/or lead vendor selection process and quarterly rates reviews.
  • Ensure Transportation / Delivery data accuracy in SAP and other systems when and where required.
  • Ensure Standard Operations Procedures are up to date, all parties involved are clear on those Procedures (including external) and version control is in place.
  • Investigate and raise any claims with the 3rd party service providers
  • Prepare and distribute KPI reports with regards to service providers performance.
  • Manage communication with Internal stakeholders (Customer Operations, Customs and Compliance, APP, Legal, Commercial Procurement, Distribution centers, Planning).

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience (more than 3 years) working in managing logistics operations and carrier management.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Experience in stakeholder management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Advanced excel and numerical skills.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages is an asset.
  • 3PL/4PL model experience is an asset.
  • Textile/ Retail industry experience would be beneficial.
