Purpose of the role
To support the works supervisors in planning, programming and managing a wide range of streetlighting installation and maintenance works.
What will the role involve?
- Work closely with the work supervisors and wider team to plan, program and manage work
- Put together job packs for gangs of streetlighting operatives
- Raise permits through the Streetmanager system
- Opening and closing permits
- Obtain plans of underground services from service owners
- Organise traffic management with third parties
- Apply for mains connections work from third parties
- Update information in spreadsheets and other management systems
- Work with the wider team to ensure materials required are identified and ordered
- Liaise with the storeman to ensure materials are in stock and organised ahead of works commencing
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of programmed works
- Visit sites to survey and photograph as required
- Maintain paper and digital records relating to health and safety, training, vehicles and jobs
- Maintain equipment registers as required and manage routine equipment testing
- Drop off and collect vehicles from routine servicing and appointments
- Distribute health and safety alerts and toolbox talks
- Undertake other operational support duties as required
Reporting to: Operations Manager
What are we looking for?
Education:
- To GCSE level. Good passes in Maths and English
- Further education relation to the electrical, civils or construction industry advantageous but not essential
Skills
- Use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook for email highly desirable
- Full driving license essential
Experience
- Experience planning and programming works advantageous but not essential
- Experience working in electrical, highways, civils or construction advantageous but not essential
