Family run mixed farm business in arable and poultry production.
Job description
We are family run farming business involved in arable and poultry looking for a poultry worker to live on site and help/oversee the day to day running of the 3 broiler sheds. The role will involve working alternative weekends.
The role will involve tasks such as,
- Walking the birds (removing dead and culling of unhealthy)
- Checking feed and water
- Seeing to alarms
- Spreading of litter
- Animal welfare and health
- Helping with catching at end of crops (can be day or night)
- Setting up sheds for new chicks (6-7 week turnaround)
- Monitoring temperatures and ventilation
- Setting feeder and drinker heights
The role involves living on site in a mobile home, only cost is gas (water and electricity included)
Some poultry experience is required.
