Overview Of RoleWe have a good opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher – Plant Biochemistry/Molecular Biology in the plant proteostasis group in the Plant Sciences Department at Rothamsted Research. The post is funded by a BBSRC Transformation Program project ‘New regulators of iron homeostasis in plants’, that aims to understand the mechanism by which iron homeostasis is dysregulated in an Arabidopsis mutant. The potential processes include protein degradation, plant hormone biosynthesis and transcriptional regulation. The goal is to confirm the key players involved in the processes and clarify the hierarchy of different players.
The post holder is required to have experience in Plant RNA and protein isolation and confocal microscopy. Previous experience in generating and characterising transgenic plants and genome editing is desirable but not essential. Informal enquiries should be directed to hongtao.zhang@rothamsted.ac.uk
This full-time position will be based at our Harpenden site, offering a fixed-term appointment for 12 months with a salary in the range of £31,350 to £32,315 per annum.
Due to current Coronavirus restrictions and the requirement to start as soon as possible as a condition of the grant funding, applicants who currently have the right to work in the UK will normally be given priority when shortlisting.
Closing Date: 20th June 2021
Interviews will be held on the 30th June 2021.
