Post Office And Outreach Clerk,
We are currently looking for a member of staff for our Crewkerne branch and to cover Outreach Post Office branches. The position available is to cover four days per week, 2 days in branch 9am-6pm and 2 days at outreach locations from 9am-4.30pm . We will consider applicants who only wish to work 2 - 3 days a week.
The Post Office provides ‘outreach’ post office services to rural communities. This includes those operated out of local buildings, such as village halls or community shops. Travel time to the destinations together with mileage is paid.
Previous post office experience would be preferred together with the ability to work alone. Training can however be provided for the right applicant. There will also be retail tasks such as shop restocking, tidying & cleaning.
Applicants must be 18+.
The applicants must be able to drive, be able to lift items of a reasonable weight, be comfortable working on their own, customer friendly and have excellent time keeping.
You would need to enjoy meeting new people and be able to work in a challenging and interactive environment.
Being able to cover staff holidays and sickness will also be required.
*Post Office Counter Key activities and responsibilities:
- Serving customers quickly and efficiently, ensuring they are fully informed of all relevant services on offer.
- Completing transactions in an accurate and timely manner to provide a positive customer experience
- Demonstrate good product knowledge to customers on key promotions and offers, maximising all selling opportunities.
- Ensuring necessary administration is completed.
- Adhering to all security procedures, ensuring that a high level of security awareness is observed at all times.
- Candidates must have good numeracy skills and be confident in using a computer.
