  • To manage a highly complex and specialist caseload independently as an autonomous practitioner, with responsibility for implementing the podiatry process in an effective and efficient manner, through planning, prioritising and carrying out clinical activities within effective timescales; being adaptable as patients’ circumstances and clinical presentations change; demonstrating effective caseload and time management skills.
  • To act as clinical lead for podiatry in relation to an area of expertise for the service (biomechanical assessment/gait analysis or diabetic foot risk)and take a lead role in the development and implementation of policy, guidelines, protocol, pathways, standards and services (local and national) both within the service and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team in the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

To be Team Leader for generic and specialist high risk podiatry provision; to clinically support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice, acting as a source of expertise. You will be expected to demonstrate specialist knowledge and a high level of personal skill and be responsible for the training, supervision and performance assessment of staff. You will need a sound theoretical knowledge base and be able to demonstrate evidence-based practice.
