Operational environment:

The PMO Manager will work within the Group Transformation function as a member of the Enterprise PMO team. The role will work across the Group Transformation portfolio to provide full lifecycle PMO services with particular focus on leading assurance activities across assigned Supply Chain programmes and projects.

The PMO Manager role is key in the development of the Enterprise PMO team to increase the maturity level of project delivery and controls across JD.

You will lead a PMO team to work closely with Supply Chain project and programme teams through the full delivery lifecycle to implement effective PMO services to enhance delivery success.

The role will provide end to end PMO services across a number of initiatives within Supply Chain whilst also supporting wider Group Transformation activities.

The initial focus of the role will be to support key strategic programmes supporting JD growth related to warehouse build and fit-out in UK and Europe currently in mobilising and in delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful implementation of the Group Transformation function and Supply Chain PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables
  • Establish programme and project management frameworks and standards to deliver effective PMO services
  • Define assurance processes to support effective change delivery across programmes and projects
  • Work alongside delivery teams from Supply Chain and across the wider business to provide independent assurance on change activities highlighting areas of concern and intervention points
  • Work with delivery teams to ensure all risks and issues are managed effectively providing guidance as required to help mature practices
  • Lead and motivate a Supply Chain PMO team assigned to specific programmes and projects to build cohesion and deliver high quality outputs
  • Develop and maintain performance information creating reports to demonstrate project/ programme/ portfolio performance
  • Ensure that reporting follows a consistent and standardised approach and conforms to Supply Chain PMO’s high standards
  • Identify relevant metrics to ensure operational readiness

The Supply Chain PMO Manager will possess excellent attention to detail and have the ability to define processes and write and review documentation to ensure that Supply Chain PMO defined best practice standards are being met.

Experience & knowledge:

  • 3+ years PMO Management experience
  • Experience in the set-up and ongoing development of project governance and assurance processes across programmes and projects
  • Experience in project and change management methodologies and approaches in waterfall and agile environments
  • Experience in leading project assurance reviews of large change programmes within Supply Chain expansion environment
  • Experience in programme and project planning to identify critical path, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements and forecast
  • Experience in delivering an effective reporting framework to demonstrate assurance against delivery success
  • Experience of working with and supporting senior level stakeholders
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to adapt at short notice to the needs of the projects

  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage own workload and that of PMO team members
  • Able to network effectively, influence people and broker relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Diligent, focused and dependable, able to build strong relationships based on integrity

Preferable

  • Recognised professional qualifications in project management/ PMO related disciplines
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Project and SharePoint
