About the role

In this role, you will help to move forward some of our highest profile, innovative and complex projects.

As Lead PMO you will lead, facilitate and be responsible for Programme Management Office activities required to support all project management and related processes. You will be responsible for providing information for executive level oversight of the programme, the delivery and change management plans, progress of delivery, risks and issues management, as well as managing the change control process.

You will be aligned to working with Agile methodologies and you will ensure procedures, operations, and practices are efficient, streamlined, and on budget. This includes coordinating value streams, supporting programme execution and fostering operational excellence.

The Lead PMO will promote continuous workflow and oversee spending, audits, compliance, forecasting, and measurement.

Ideally, you will have experience of Financial Services environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management which includes strategy and funding, Agile portfolio operations and lean governance.
  • Strategy of the Programme Management Office including connecting the portfolio to broader business strategy, maintaining a portfolio vision, realising the vision of the portfolio through Epics, establishing lean budgets and guardrails and looking at portfolio flow.
  • Agile Portfolio Operations by coordinating value product streams, supporting program execution and fostering operational excellence.
  • Applying appropriate governance by forecasting and budgeting dynamically, measuring portfolio performance and coordinating an approach to continuous compliance.
  • Preparing for and participating in audit activities.
  • Reviews & analyses RAID items and support the RAID Management process with relevant standards.
  • Support the Head of IT Delivery in reviewing planning progress & conformance across the teams.
  • Provide project and team level MI of planning data.
  • Supports the Head of IT Delivery in reviewing project status reports and providing analysis on trends/key areas to focus on etc.

Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • You will have Lead PMO experience and the ability to work with high performing teams.
  • Experience of working within an Agile programme delivery environment, financial control and working in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement with the ability to interact, engage, influence and have credibility at all levels.
  • Experience of working as a Lead PMO Lead in financial programmes.
  • Experience of managing and tracking programme resources with demonstrable experience of applying and advising project governance frameworks.
  • Recognised qualifications such as ISEB Programme & Project Support Office (PPSO) Advanced certified or equivalent.
  • Experience in Agile project management methodologies, practices and associated tools
  • Strong business understanding, a high level of financial management and experience of providing key MI information to support the business
  • Confident communication skills and energy.
  • A passion for change and proactively encouraging new ideas
  • Innovative, open minded and progressive in thinking
  • Ability to work in complex environments, on large portfolios of work being able to multitask
