Looking for an exciting opportunity in the field of Automation Training and Consultancy? Our rapidly growing company is searching for a Course Tutor to provide engaging and informative classes on PLC automation technology to our students throughout the UK, with primary work based out of our Gateshead offices.
As the ideal candidate, you must exhibit extensive PLC automation knowledge and excellent communication skills to deliver these courses effectively. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to work independently, provide quality tuition to entry-level learners using Siemens hardware and software, and easily field their questions.

Location: You will be primarily working at our main offices in Gateshead. Some travel in the North East region will be necessary, and travel expenses will be covered.
Responsibilities:You will demonstrate that you can work with limited supervision and provide high-quality tuition to clients at an entry-level in automation training using Siemens hardware and software.
Automation Training Responsibilities
- Understanding our EAL IMFFP® 1&2 and EAL Level 3 Award in PLCs lesson plans and delivering them to a high standard
- Assessing a student’s level of progress throughout the training course and identifying areas for improvement
- Reviewing a student’s assignments and working through problems that the student did not fully understand
- Providing support during and after an examination
- Communicating to supervisors about trouble areas or any issues that require attention
- Keeping up to date with current and latest automation developments
- Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the course subject
Administration Duties
The applicant will be expected to assist when required in general admin duties.
- Paperwork, printing, and course preparation
Essential Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Qualifications to HNC or equivalent
- Siemens S7-1200/1500 PLC knowledge and experience with TIA Portal
- Programming skills in PLC
- Confidence in delivering training to classes of up to 6 engineers
- Excellent social skills, including; patience, positivity, active listening, communication, leadership, problem-solving and time management
- C2 English Level
- Full Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.)
- Excellent PC/Laptop skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Siemens S7-300/400 PLC knowledge and experience with STEP7 Professional
- Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC knowledge and experience with Studio/RSLogix 5000
- Full Driving License and access to own vehicle
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position with 34.5 weekly working hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 08.45 – 16.15
- Friday: 08.45 – 13.15
