We are looking for

A Platform Manager F/Mfor our FVL (Finished Vehicle Logistics) division based in Sheerness.

Mission and Brief of duties

The Platform Manager’s mission is to organise, coordinate and control all the support activities and ensure the proper maintenance of the facility by efficiently resourcing activity needs, to ensure optimisation in keeping with the Group Health and Safety rules and our & our Customer’s standard operating procedures

Responsibilities
  • Define and negotiate required budgets for the activity
  • Monitor the expenses and arbitrate if needed
  • Drive GMS throughout the site.
  • Responsible for effectively and efficiently managing daily operational planning of all activities and resource relating to the yard department and administration functions to ensure all dedicated deadlines are met by teams.
  • Manage the supplier link to the activity
  • To liaise with central functions in order to provide supporting and scheduled information.
  • Add all relevant site documents to eDoc, ensuring working instructions are kept up to date and in correct format.
  • Organize and monitor the corrective and preventative cleaning and maintenance of the workshop equipment and materials.
  • Ensure working instructions are kept up to date and in correct format.
  • Control and support for all key IT systems used on site, ensuring accurate data and robust cleansing
  • Manage the creation and provision of customer and operational reporting from the site
  • Follow the activities to validate the services in the IT system for invoicing
  • Provide report and follow across the site activities.
  • Liaise with relevant departments on all system failures and required improvements.
  • Manage all equipment files, ensure scheduled maintenance and compliance checks.
  • Support inductions for new suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintenance and safety of site and buildings, including housekeeping and foliage control.
  • Manage site waste streams maximising recycling and minimising the cost of landfill.
  • Investigate and implement energy reduction strategies, detailing cost benefit analysis to justify expenditure.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, safety instructions and safe systems of work.
  • Control local petty cash funds.
  • Seek new initiatives to ensure correct verification and invoicing within site disciplines.
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required from time to time by your line manager.
Our successful candidate will ideally have the following skills
  • Experience in related field, including minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in the development of operational budgets.
  • Experience in setting targets for performance improvements.
  • Knowledge in P&L
  • Project Management experience
  • Flexible with ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment, and must be organized with excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional engagement
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills within Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
