The Platform Infrastructure manager is tasked with providing and maintaining a marketplace of reusable infrastructure assets that the organisation will use to run systems and services. This individual will also need to ensure that accurate and concise documentation is provided. The ideal candidate is organised and security focused.

You Will Be Accountable For

Providing a marketplace of reusable infrastructure templates (e.g. Docker images, Golden AMIs) as per the requirements of the agile delivery squads

Maintaining templates to ensure they are kept up to date with the latest security patches, operating system updates and accompanying documentation

Updating and maintaining infrastructure that is already deployed to production and development accounts

Providing accurate and concise documentation on how to locate and use infrastructure templates

Ensure environments are available for development and testing activities as and when required

Ensure assets are adequately sized to handle business as usual workloads while also being able to scale in a cost-effective manner

Monitoring infrastructure and ensuring operational efficiency

Delivery of a cost saving strategy across the engineering team and SRE team

Technical & People Skills

Network skills to support Security Group management, VPN and Direct Connect configuration.

Knowledge of application containerisation platforms and registry e.g. Docker & ECR

Strong background and experience with Linux and Windows administration

Experience With AWS Is Essential

3-5 years’ experience managing enterprise-level infrastructure environments using configuration management tools and infrastructure as code.

Ensuring environments are available and repeatable to support development efforts (we use a mixture of Ansible and CloudFormation)

Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools e.g. AppDynamics.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
