CR Civil Engineering, part of RSK Group are a family run business. Our Head Office is based in Leicestershire, and we have regional offices in Rotherham, Derbyshire and South Wales.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Plant Machinery Trainer to join our team based in Ripley, Derbyshire, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and assess candidates on a variety of Plant Machinery, eg, 360 Wheeled Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Telescopic Handlers etc.
  • Train to relevant scheme criteria and complete all awarding body paperwork for auditing and external verification, ensuring compliance and quality of provision.
  • Develop relationships with learners and employers, understanding any needs of learners and employers and be able to respond effectively with a plan to how to meet those individual needs.
  • Prepare training materials in all formats to facilitate learning and to provide a stimulating learning environment by making full use of available resources.
  • Undertake all duties in full accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults within the organisation.
  • Ensure learners are in a safe working and training environment in line with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Remain up to date in the chosen field and develop new skills and knowledge in line with CPD.
  • Promote equality and diversity throughout the cohort of learners.
  • Liaise with Training Manager and plan for future training.
  • Liaise with Sites to arrange plant training for operatives.
  • Liaise with external Trainers/Testers to facilitate plant training.
  • Carry out internal training – Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels.
  • Face-Fit Testing of site operatives.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Operator cards in all mobile plant equipment to be trained, such as 360 Excavator, Dumpers, Rollers, Tele-Handlers, etc.
  • NPORS Plant Instructor Qualification
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Competence with various Microsoft IT packages – Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • PTTLS Level 3 Award in Learning & Development, or similar instructional techniques qualification
  • Managers & Professional (MAP) CITB Health, Safety & Environment test.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • CPCS Tester
  • EUSR Trainer Categories 1 to 5
  • Manual Handling & Abrasive Wheels Trainer
  • Health & Safety Qualification, eg, NEBOSH Construction
  • Experience of delivering NVQ qualifications in construction plant
  • Assessors Award, eg, D32/D33 or A1
