Planning Manager- Food Industry - Paying up to £45k - 0900 to 1700 Monday to Friday We are recruiting for a leading food manufacturer. The business is enjoying year on year growth and due to further investment are seeking a Planning Manager who will report directly into the General Manager Overview of Planning Manager Role Oversee and manage all site supply chain operations including warehousing, raw material ordering, finished goods planning and transport. Role and Responsibilities of Planning Manager Key tasks-Optimise the balance of inventory across the supply chain network in line with inventory turnover and customer satisfaction goals
  • Preparing schedules and progress input data for use in the monthly progress report and accompanying narrative description of issues and potential solutions
  • Assisting with contract management as it relates to new product
  • Accurately forecast Weekly, Daily call volumes against headcount
  • Plan operational resource ensuring the business is kept up to date at all times
  • Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety / food legislation.
  • Ensure that controllable costs are effectively managed within agreed standards in particular:
  • Waste
  • Labour
  • External warehousing
  • Transport
  • Working Stock Capital
  • Ensure that the manufacturing team receive the quality of information to enable maximum efficiency and agreed performance standards in particular:
  • To ensure that order fill and service level agreements are met.
  • To secure an effective relationship between other key managers in operational and customer service functions
  • Ensure that material ordering and stock control is effectively managed.
  • Ensure that third party logistics/supply contracts are effectively managed
  • Construct a finished goods plan and monitor performance to this.
  • Implement and maintain performance management systems that identifies objectives, targetsand training needs
  • Build and maintain a positive and constructive employee relations climate through effective dialogue with employees and their representatives. Qualifications and Experience:
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Planning Manager in the food industry
  • Culinary or food service management degree may be advantageous.
  • Strong working knowledge of related computer software
