Planning Engineer

Location: Hull

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collation/assessment of data to generate/interrogate Level 3/Level 4 programmes and generate Project Baselines
  • Detailed knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Awareness of WBS control and reporting techniques
  • Detailed understanding of inter-project logical links
  • Control and analysis of current status versus project baselines
  • Understanding of engineering and procurement logical links into fabrication and construction activities
  • Critical path tracking and recommendations
  • Resource loading at activity level
  • Material cost loading into the programme
  • Anticipate problem areas regarding critical paths and advise remedial action.
  • Rules of Credit understanding and application
  • Scheduling updates on a bi-weekly and monthly basis
  • Introduction and analysis of approved project changes into the programme
  • Earned Value Management including issuance of reports, current and forecast trends and recommendations
  • Key date management
  • Attendance at all relevant project, progress and planning meetings


The expectation is that you would provide an enthusiastic and proactive approach to the position, and be confident in liaising with client and internal departments.

The position is Site based (Hull, North Humberside) with an element of travel to Bilfinger UK Main office would a requirement and possible travel to client locations.

Knowledge of contract types is expected.
