We are looking to recruit a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Hartlepool. As PPM Technician you will ensure that the machinery and plant are maintained in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule. This is a proactive, forward looking role where you will also look at future planning including budget analysis, failure and pattern trending and you will be required to provide detailed reports of your findings.
Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To carry out planned preventative maintenance, to ensure the equipment is maintained to avoid preventable breakdowns.
  • Use non-intrusive methods to carry out analysis and present results of equipment such as thermal imaging, vibration, oil and grease sampling and to predict equipment wear.
  • Develop the current PPM schedules and identify new methods and tests for predicting failures for all moving parts.
  • Removal of electrical and mechanical assembles. Dismantle, clean and carry out mechanical/electrical tolerance testing.
  • Project planning, budget estimation and control of contract labour to minimise production downtime.
  • Health and safety and environmental control, to ensure a safe working environment for individual as well as colleagues
  • Carrying out both Mechanical and Electrical breakdown repairs identified, to avoid any unnecessary machine downtime.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
You should have previous experience of the maintenance and repair of both electrical and mechanical machines and systems, and have ideally been involved in planned preventative maintenance schedules. You should be confident at carrying out analysis based on equipment such as thermal imaging, vibration, oil and grease sampling and be able to report on your findings to predict equipment wear. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to work well as part of a team, or under your own initiative as required. You will be highly organised, with the ability to work to deadline and follow procedures. You will be competent at all elements of the MS Office suite and be experienced in writing up your findings.

You must be able to work at heights, using both ladders and powered access platforms as this will be a requirement of the role.
