Salary – OTE £22,315 Inc. Bonus – 28 day’s holidays (inclusive of PH’s).
All travel / accommodation outside of area of responsibility compensated via company expense policy

We are seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to provide LP support in Field Based Role within Dorset area.

This is a new position within the business and as such the successful applicant will assist in developing the company LP structure and strategy for the future. As a Loss Prevention Officer you will work closely with the Area Loss Prevention Manager, Loss Prevention Team Leader and Retail Management to ensure that your area of responsibility are at the forefront of identifying and delivering LP best practice that can be cascaded across the estate.

Responsibilities

  • To create a safe and secure working and shopping environment while operating within company policies and procedures and delivering against department KPI’s -
  • Identification of dishonest activity.
  • A proactive approach to the policing of dishonesty activity.
  • The apprehension of offenders.
  • Where apprehension is not viable the deterring of offenders.
  • Collation of evidence to support criminal and civil prosecutions.
  • Utilise reporting platform to record identified incidents.
  • Support the education of retail staff in loss prevention activity.
  • Create positive working relationships with retail teams at all levels.
  • Create positive working relationships with external law enforcement and intelligence sharing bodies in order to understand local issues and mitigate associated risk.
  • Identify and share best practice across area of responsibility.
  • Review and report on LP activity within stores.
  • Support proactive initiatives including out of hour’s searches and covert observations.
  • Identify and escalate incidents of internal theft / fraud or process issues resulting in a financial loss to the business.
  • Support new store openings to ensure company standards are met.
  • Evaluate all areas of the business relevant to your role and make recommendations where efficiencies can be made, and or losses reduced.
  • Any other duties as directed by line management.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to build relationships with retail management and external agencies.
  • Ability to identify and reduce losses within the retail environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good written and oral communication skills (Incident reports / witness statements / court appearances).
  • Good judgement and decision making skills.
  • Pro-active and able to show initiative.
  • Driving/Motorbike license with own transport. (Required)
  • Fully flexible working 5 days out of 7 (weekend working essential to the role).
  • Experience working over multi-sites preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team to achieve KPI’s.
  • May require nights away from home supporting stores outside of geographic area of responsibility.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £22,315.00 per year
