We are recruiting for an experienced outdoor Pig Breeding Manager for a farm in Cambridge (CB2).

The company was established in the early 1950s. Being privately owned and entirely independent, its continuous investment in its genetics and high health has allowed it to make significant economic gains with producers and retailers.

The Role:

  • Working on a multiplication breeding herd of 800 sows
  • Overseeing 4 very skilled stock people
  • The farm covers several production areas, including farrowing, weaning and serving using a three-week batch system.
  • Responsible for farm performance, recording data and reporting back to head office on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Responsible for feed, drug and AI orders
  • Ensure the smooth running of the unit.

All animals are looked after according to RSPCA Assured Standards, so candidates must focus on welfare and enjoy an active job.

Person specification:

  • 4 years+ of experience working with pigs
  • Minimum of 2 years+ of pig management experience
  • Must be passionate about pigs
  • Must have high welfare standards
  • Must have a driving licence

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
