Position:Pick, Pack, Dispatch Assistant with Forklift LicenseSalary: 13.00/hrEstablishment: Food productionLocation: Outskirts of Newbury - Own transport essentialsHours: Monday to Friday -shift start varying between 06:30 and 09:00We are a family-owned ambient food manufacturer of high quality chutneys, condiments, dressings, and cooking sauces. We are currently based in a semi-rural area where there is no suitable public transport, so transport is a necessary requirement. We are a rapidly growing company in a very secure industry and are BRCGS AA accredited.We are looking for a full-time Pick, Pack, Dispatch Assistant [with forklift licence] in our Goods in/Goods out department to join our small and friendly team.You must have at least one existing fork lift truck licence and some warehousing experience. The fork lift licence must be a 3rd party accredited licence and NOT an inhouse licence. We have a counter balance and a flexi truck. If the successful candidate only has one of these licences, we will provide training (third party accredited training) for the other licence within six months of job confirmation.During 2023 we are moving to a new site in Newbury. The new site is four times larger and allows the business to continue its rapid growth. Once we have moved to the new site, the warehouse team will expand to include pick, pack and despatch of our own stock - currently our stock is stored off site at a 3rd party warehouse.The role involves a mixture of loading, unloading (FLT), booking in/putting away stock, picking, packing, keeping the warehouse clean and sometimes helping stock checking.Key tasks include:Key tasks include:
  • Check condition of FLTs and the completion of daily check lists
  • Receive and despatch all goods to and from site. The volume of receipts and dispatches during the night is a small fraction of the day shift volumes
  • Ensure the correct acceptance and storage of products and including our food traceability system. This involves printing labels and applying traceability labels to all inbound ingredients and packaging
  • Wrapping and labelling pallets correctly (we have a pallet wrapper) ready for despatch
  • Ensure the picking and packaging of products for dispatch and shipping are observed to the required standard: Sealed correctly: Dated Correctly: Correctly Documented: Pallet Stacked correctly and that deadlines are met
  • Help manage the storage of all stock and ensure that appropriate stock control records are maintained
  • Help achieve daily dispatch targets for the department
  • Safe disposal and compacting of waste and packaging
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and completing cleaning check documentation
  • Supply the kitchen with raw materials and packaging against a daily picklist, and as required
  • Complete accurate daily stock check
