Claims Handler – Pet Insurance
Peterborough
Full Time / Permanent
40 Hours per week
Working Hours between 8am/8pm Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm Saturdays
Salary - £19,760 - £21,000 based on experience

RSA are looking for some great people who are passionate about providing excellent customer service to join our award winning Claims Contact Centre Team.

Here at RSA we provide insurance for our customers across a range of products such as home, motor and pet insurance, supporting customers of MORE THAN, and our partner brand insurance offerings for John Lewis, M&S and Tesco.

As a multi-national insurance company with over 300 years of history and the UK’s oldest insurer, we know a thing or two about insurance and how best to help our customers.

These are full time shift based roles with a range of set working patterns covering our opening hours of 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday.


The Role


As a Pet Claims handler, you are at the heart of our business and will be the first point of contact when our customers and their pets need assistance. You will handle Customer claims as well as deal with queries received by phone or email.

We are looking for customer focused people that enjoy challenges, can speak to people and have a keen interest in pets. You will be taking calls regularly and be able to identify customers’ needs and provide a solution in an empathetic, efficient, and professional way.

You will work as part of a team, engaging and supporting your colleagues to deliver excellent service to our Customers. You will have a passion for delivering for our customers and keep your promises. You will be supported by a team with a wide range of experience, including vets, to ensure you’re able to help our customers when they need us.

The role will be based in our office in Peterborough. The initial training and ongoing learning, to ensure you are fully competent and operational, will be office based in a COVID friendly environment for 3 months to ensure successful induction into the role. Following successful completion of your induction you will work in a blended environment of office and at home.

About You

  • Great at identifying customer needs, and problem solving to resolve our customer queries, putting the customer at the heart of everything you do
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Passionate about pets!
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to follow processes, and have great attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Previous customer service experience advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
