Personnel Security Administrator

UKRI, Swindon

Contract: Fixed Term/6 Months

Hours: Full time/Part time considered (0.6 FTE or above)

Salary: £31,931 per annum/pro rata

Role Summary:



To administer and manage enhanced security and vetting applications for UKRI; adopting a risk-based approach to assure that incoming individuals (and any subsequent internal movers) have been appropriately assessed.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate enhanced vetting activities undertaken by UKRI, for new starters and existing employees
  • Administer vetting applications via UKSV portal, continually monitoring the status of applications, providing status reports as required, identifying and escalating risk and issues to the Personnel Security Advisor
  • Provide SME advice and guidance to enhanced vetting sponsors (line managers, divisional heads, project leads)
  • Support the Personnel Security Advisor to provide input to bids and projects where SME personnel security support is required
  • Liaise with UK SBS, UKRI Resourcing and Hiring Managers to ensure enhanced vetting process is appropriately aligned to onboarding timelines
  • Ensure candidate records in Oracle are kept up to date with the relevant security and vetting information.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience of security & vetting processes for SC and DV level clearance
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to time critical situations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
