The Performance and Quality (P&Q) Team is a regional team with responsibility for a number of functions. The P&Q Team provide a valuable service to operational business units designed to improve their performance and the quality of their service delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Performance and Quality, the Performance Manager will lead the Performance function, managing staff and overseeing the provision of high quality management information and analysis. This will include developing tools and leading on improvement activity to meet the requirements of the organisation set both regionally and nationally.
The post will be based within the probation region, and will involve some travel within the region and to other to key national venues.
Summary
Reporting to the Head of Performance and Quality, the Performance Manager leads on regional performance management and improvement and works alongside Probation Delivery Units to support them in understanding and achieving best possible performance.
Responsibilities, Activities & Duties
- The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Supporting PDUs to deliver in accordance with agreed national service delivery indicators and specifications
- Developing and delivering performance improvement programmes and initiatives
- Identifying regional performance and data quality issues and opportunities linking in to Regional and HMPPS priorities
- Acting as a performance Subject Matter Expert
- Leading on the creation and maintenance of technical solutions using Business Objects, Performance Dashboards and other reporting tools in respect of performance management and data quality
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of productive working relationships with key stakeholders both within and beyond HMPPS
- Seeking feedback from stakeholders to better understand their perceptions of the services delivered by the team and use the information to continuously improve delivery and to develop new products and processes
- Management of Performance and Quality Officers (NPS Band 4) and Performance Analysts (NPS Band 3) across a number of sites.
- Deputising for the Head of Performance & Quality as required.
- Implementing the strategic objectives of the Region relating to the Performance function of the Team.
- In line with NPS policies and procedures, demonstrate a commitment to equality and inclusion and an understanding of their relevance to the work they do.
- Adhere to all policies in respect of the sensitive/confidential nature of the information handled whilst working in this position.
