We are on the hunt for a People Manager who would rather be in the Kitchen chatting to our chefs than sitting behind a desk. You will need to be energetic and engaging and love nothing more than getting to know everyone around you.

The main purpose of the role is to provide collaborative, engaging support to the hotel operational managers in all people related areas. Championing THE PIG culture and values, ensuring talent development and retention remains a key focus, making THE PIGs an employer of choice.

This role will take responsibility for the Southwest region Dorset to Cornwall, currently covering 4 hotel sites with new openings and locations on the horizon. You will be working as part of the wider People Team alongside the People Manager East, to be recruited in early 2023.

The role’s primary focus:

  • Taking a leading role within your region to seek out and develop talent within the teams.
  • To ensure our people are offered an opportunity to grow within the company.
  • Engaging with the hotel management to nominate candidates for apprenticeships, our Budding Entrepreneur scheme and other accredited training.
  • Support, guide and lead where necessary, on all aspects of employee relations within your region.
  • Actively involved in recruitment and onboarding activities (lead by the recruitment team), especially during a hotel new opening.

Experience & Skills:

  • Significant demonstrable experience in a similar People/HR role.
  • Experience of supporting and leading aspects of employee relations.
  • CIPD qualification and understanding of employment law.
  • Ability to develop meaningful relationships.
  • Resilient and adaptable to change.
  • A natural people person who is confident, engaging, and approachable.
  • Creative, Independent and a passion for people.
  • Willing to think outside of the box.

A background in hospitality is advantageous. This role is ideally suited to someone special who finds comfort in a busy kitchen as much as a meeting room, who stands out from the crowd (preferably in wellies) and thrives in a unique, interesting, and people focused position.

We are dedicated to making THE PIGs an inspiring, exciting, and fun place to work and in return for your hard work you can expect something a little different:

  • Numerous retail discounts via our Perkbox Scheme.
  • Discounted room rates and complimentary staff stays across our group.
  • Discounted food, beverage, and spa days across our group.
  • Paid annual leave.
  • commitment to providing craft and accredited training to all staff.
  • Meals on duty, including Head Office.
  • On-site staff parking
