  • To support the Head of People & Culture to ensure that the day to day People team operation is delivered to standard and to deputise for the Head of People & Culture in their absence as required.
  • To manage and support the People Officers providing an operational service across the whole organisation, ensuring employment legislation is adhered to, mitigating risk in all people matters.
  • To contribute towards development of and implementation of policies, procedures and standard operating procedures to ensure the People team follow best practice.
  • To coach line managers and equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to maximise their performance and that of their team.
  • To build your external network to maintain a good understanding of current HR trends ensuring you are able to generate new ideas in support of the HR strategy.
  • To support the Director of People & Culture and the Head of People & Culture in undertaking a number of continuous improvement projects

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of operating at management level within a People / HR team with responsibility of line management
  • Level 7 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
  • Experience of providing HR advice and support for complex HR issues
  • Experience of working autonomously where required, able to apply sound judgement based on your previous knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of HR best practice
  • The ability to influence and coach at all levels
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to deal effectively with issues of a sensitive nature, demonstrating tact and diplomacy


The hours of work are 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
