Pensions Admin Specialist (DB AND DC)– Preston– £40,000 – Permanent
Full time (Will consider part time / flexible working options)
As a senior member of the team, you will be supporting the operational teams in the delivery of technical administration projects, as well as supporting the delivery of a number of different technical projects for the scheme, including:
- GMP Reconciliation projects
- GMP equalisation projects
- New scheme implementations
- Scheme events.
You will need to build strong relationships with all business areas specifically HR, Payroll, Finance teams and external advisers, and deal with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally across all business areas and at all levels of seniority.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Delivering projects such as GMP Equalisation and Rectification in an accurate and timely manner.
- Accurately calculate all types of administrative tasks including complex member cases – both manual calculations and system driven calculations and check the work of colleagues.
- Working on multiple projects or work streams at any given time.
- Supporting the Administration Manager with workflow and process improvements as required.
- Responding to member queries as required and any other ad-hoc work/projects.
Required experience:
- Demonstrated DB Pensions Experience, and some DC experience is preferred,
- An understanding of gmp reconciliation,
- Very strong administration skills with an ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to tight deadlines.
- Have experience of doing and checking calculations manually.
- Excellent, up to date knowledge of relevant pensions legislation, technical developments affecting pension administration and industry best practice.
- Be able to extract, manage data sets and manipulate complex data sets within Excel.
- Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal communication including an excellent telephone manner.
Ideal experience includes:
- QPA/PMI qualified (or willingness to undertake the examinations)
- Willingness to challenge existing procedures and have the technical expertise to implement change whilst maintaining service levels
