Payment Administrator, Full-Time, Permanent, Central Newcastle, £22,000 Per Annum

My client is a leading national real estate developer looking for a Payments Administrator to join their growing finance team in Newcastle.

Main duties include:

Processing UK and International payments using BACS system, online banking, or cheques
Ensure payments are submitted to verified bank details only
Check payment runs for accuracy, data integrity, potential duplicates, erroneous transactions, and negate where required
Ensure payments receive relevant checks and approval before submission
Investigate and resolve returned payments
Dealing with supplier remittances
Respond to any complaints received and resolving within a timely manner
Regularly updating verified changes to supplier bank details
Effective handling of all payment queries received by telephone and/or email
All ad hoc duties as required

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 2 years in a similar role
Excellent organisational & administrative skills
Strong numeracy skills
Minimum intermediate level usage of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word & Excel
Solid team player
An AAT qualification, qualified or part qualified
Experience within the property and construction industry would be advantageous but not essential
