Pastoral Mentor

Hastings

U-educate are currently recruiting for Pastoral Mentor for Schools in Hastings.

We are looking for committed and experienced Pastoral Mentor to support KS3 and KS4 students to help them integrate into their regular mainstream school.

You will work directly with children and their families, alongside other professionals, to manage and develop targeted support to maximise each child’s personal wellbeing.

You will work closely with all preparation staff, ensuring that they are fully supported in dealing with a range of pastoral issues on a day-to-day basis.

The work you do will support academic achievement by helping to remove barriers to learning and personal development.

Pay Rate

  • £80.00.00 per day

Hours of work

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:30 – 15:30

Job Description

  • Promote the welfare of children and support the School in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Keep internal records updated to reflect ongoing support of individuals.
  • Attend relevant meetings relating to student progress, achievement, and welfare.
  • Regularly report on pastoral issues encountered, to inform pastoral support and planning.
  • Provide support, information and advice to students, parents/carers, and staff.
  • Collate and share relevant pastoral information, such as feedback on progress and work for those missing school for pastoral reasons.
  • Help plan and attend pastoral events including parent and student information evenings and webinars

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a pastoral support setting
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated from September 2023)
