Position Description

Trainee Parts Advisor

Salary - up to £11 per hour

Join our team and be trained to a high level within our Parts Team at Norwich.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday
0800hrs to 1600hrs

Some flexibility to cover a Saturday morning @ overtime when work volumes require.

Overview:
We are looking to train and mentor a customer service driven individual to provide our Customers with a professional and helpful service whilst promoting the profitable sale of Workshop Services and Products

In Particular:

  • To be the first line contact for customers. To identify service parts requirements and assist in preparing the necessary depot actions to meet those customer requirements.
  • Assist and serve counter sale customers by identifying parts required and supporting other team members when necessary.
  • To carry out the Service Department’s invoicing and administration systems efficiently.
  • To greet customers in a courteous manner, interpret their requirements and complete the necessary paperwork to enable work to be undertaken.
  • To effectively monitor the Work In Progress (WIP) reports to clear Workshop instructions as soon as possible.
  • To liaise with the Workshop Supervisor to maximise Workshop loading to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • To inform customers of completion times and payment methods.
  • To contact customers to inform them of any additional work required and issue accurate quotations to gain the necessary authority to complete the work.
  • To ensure all customer complaints are courteously and efficiently handled and processed.
  • To assist in the management and arrangement of customer vehicle workshop bookings for inspections, servicing and repairs.
  • Effectively plan activity levels to include regular account maintenance visits and target account visits.
  • Promote Volvo Trucks in terms of its products, services and value at all times
Key Skills / Competencies:

Whilst this is a Trainee position, we are looking for a candidate who enjoys the world of Trucks and possesses a technical mindset to absorb the many facets of working front of house within a Service and Workshop environment. If you have had exposure of any of the following skills, then this would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarisation of booking times
  • Familiarisation of vehicle parts.
  • To keep up to date with product development by reading relevant information and technical note issued.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent IT knowledge, although training will be given on in-house systems
