Zero Waste Scotland, Scotland’s resource efficiency and circular economy expert is looking for an experienced Litter & Flytipping Partner to be responsible for developing our strategic partnerships and influencing and developing material pollution prevention activities across Scotland.

Litter and flytipping are complex societal issues, and are the direct result of the throw-away culture we have adopted in the UK.

Littering And Flytipping Can Be
  • deliberate and criminal
  • thoughtless or careless
Or The Unintended Consequence Of
  • commercial or industrial practices
  • changes in other policy areas.
Material that ends up in the environment for any of these reasons is pollution.

This Role Will Focus On
  • Supporting the development of strategies and policies to prevent material pollution.
  • Improving and developing the quantity, quality and use of data.
  • Development of a programme of work to address material pollution.
Working closely with and being directed by the Manager- Litter & Flytipping, this role will develop, plan, deliver, monitor, report on and grow our material pollution prevention activities in Scotland. As a key contact in this specialist area, the role will be specifically responsible for managing complex stakeholder relationships, providing expert advice and support, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to adopt new measures to combat material pollution.

Applicants Will Be Able To Demonstrate

To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline. If no relevant degree/professional qualification, then must be able to demonstrate relevant specialist experience and an ability to transfer that knowledge to others.
  • Evidence of experience within the sector and/or its supply chain
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder engagement and relationship building to influence change
  • Successful in leading, or being part of, complex partnership projects or programmes in the public and/or private sectors
  • Strong organisational skills with experience of developing and implementing project plans successfully
  • Excellent track record of managing delivery and achieving outcome-based targets in similar specialist area

Salary And Benefits

£42,635 (pay range is £42,635 - £47,317)

This role is based in our Stirling office located next to Stirling railway station and is conveniently accessed from across central Scotland. We are leading by example in reducing our carbon footprint by embracing permanent home working and actively encourage this for colleagues where practicable. There will be times for business needs that you are required to attend the office or a client location (normally within the Central Belt of Scotland) and therefore must live within commutable distance of Stirling.
