Location: Cranborne, DorsetHourly Rate: £10.04-£11.28 per hour + £15 per night shift workedActual Salary: £11,420.00 - £12,831.00Hours: 7.45pm-8.15am- 2/3 night shifts per week depending on the rota (21.88 hours per week)About UsAt our Aurora Boveridge College, we support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional, autism and mental health needs.We’re currently looking for a Part Time Night Support Workers to assist our students in their homes (on-site) (no personal care responsibilities). Come and join our exciting team and make a difference.Our working environment is amazing - To take a virtual tour around our site, click here; Boveridge Virtual TourThe roleAs a Night support worker you play an important role with our young people you are not just night support worker you can make a difference to our young people life’sNo experience needed – Increased rates for those with experienceYour role will be to help prepare the awesome young people we support for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training, or employment.Following a handover from our day team you’ll support our students with their evening routine, you will mentor and support our young people in their evening activities, sports, or hobbies both on and off site and ensuring they settle for night. This will be with the use of verbal and visual prompting dependent on the need of the student.You’ll also provide a key liaison point for parent and carers and ensure all health/medical needs are looked after throughout the nightYou will be the listening ear and emotional support for young people to talk to after a busy dayThe key to this role will be your ability to participate and to motivate whilst ensuring our students develop their own independent living skills.Skills And QualificationsSuccessful candidates are likely to demonstrate (No experience need – we’ll fund all your training):- Willingness to participate, be positive and creative in meeting our young person’s needs
- Able to support and develop independence skills such as budgeting, cooking, housekeeping as well as accessing the wider community
- Ability to prompt / encourage in a positive manner whilst providing social/emotional behavioural support
- Ability to show a strong understanding of what “good care” looks like and how to put the young person’s needs first, whilst empowering them to be independent
- Due to our rural location access to transport and a drivers licence is essential
- Given the age of our students all applicants must be 21 and over
- Full training with the opportunity to study the Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care (funded by us!) and CPD pathway for progressing
