About The RoleLiberty Speciality Steels have exciting opportunities for part time experienced Mechanical Craftsman or Mechanical Fitter, to join our Maintenance and Engineering teams at our Rotherham Site. Reporting to the Team Leader/Shift Engineer you will safely ensure that all routine planned maintenance schedules are completed in line with the plan and that feedback is provided to determine forthcoming maintenance priorities. The Mechanical Craftsman will also be responsible for responding to, coordinating, and resolving breakdown situations, and the responsibility for carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance to mechanical plant.
The roles available will suit people seeking regular work 2 to 4 days per week.
Required Skills
- Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
- Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment for example
- Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting
- Previous experience Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
- Experience as a Coil and Cut Fitter would be advantageous.
- Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
- Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox’s and coupling systems
- Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
- A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures and permit systems
- Good level of problem solving awareness with an ability to fault find of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
