29,6 hours per week

This position provides an interesting opportunity to combine an administrative role with some basic legal work, providing support to professional staff in the Council’s Legal Children’s Services team.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing


The duties include:

  • Use of the computerised court bundling system to prepare documents for court
  • Keeping case management database accurate and up-to-date
  • A wide range of clerical and secretarial tasks
  • Taking instruction and preparation of court documents
  • Sitting behind counsel and taking notes of proceedings
  • Attending meetings to take instructions.

A few things about you


This post will offer you the chance to become fully involved in the work of the section. You will need excellent organisation and communication skills and knowledge of Word and Excel, with fast, accurate typing skills (60wpm+). You will also need the ability to work using your own initiative and to handle conflicting priorities. A basic knowledge of the public law and procedures relating to children would be advantageous.
