About the Role

Paralegals at Brethertons undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under general direction. You will be responsible for organising your own workflow and making decisions within defined parameters relating to the area of Family (Care). You will assist Qualified Lawyers in the team with progressing a variety of cases with a range of complexities and will have your own fee earning targets to achieve. You will be expected to follow and comply with all pre-defined case management procedures, including those specifically relating to the compliance obligations of SRA, Lexel and any other regulatory bodies relating to the Practice Area. You will work as part of a strong team to deliver the best results for your customers. The role provides an introductory and/or intermediary level into portfolio and case management activities. About you

In order to be successful, it is desirable that you should be working towards a specific qualification or be part qualified. You must have a robust knowledge of the processes relating to Family Law and it is essential that you have experience within Care cases. You will have experience in owning a percentage of departmental matter and/or customer portfolio and will have had fee earning targets. Managing a cash and fee target is a requirement of the role and you must be able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities. You must be able to demonstrate a good level of technical expertise relating to Family matters, but will be comfortable seeking specialist technical advice from the team when it is appropriate to do so.
