We are looking for a well-organised and independent paralegal to provide support to fee earners in our Corporate & Securities team. This is a fantastic opportunity to get excellent exposure to the highest quality of work and interaction at all levels within the team.
Job Description
Summary of duties
The main duties can be summarised as, but not limited to:

  • Drafting documents for transactions such as board meetings, agendas, subscription and redemption letters.
  • Proofreading and amending documents in preparation for the group board meetings.
  • Communicating with lawyers in other law firms internationally.
  • Daily interaction with directors and registered agents in relation to items such as share issues, redemption of shares and changes to the memorandum or articles of association and incorporation of new companies.
  • Drafting Know Your Client (KYC) letters and preparing ancillary documents for certification.
  • Maintaining KYC files for the requirements of banks in multiple jurisdictions in relation to transactions and the opening of and/or changes to accounts.
  • Maintaining group structure charts and corporate details lists of all BVI companies within the group.
  • Following up and keeping up to date with any proposals approved at board meetings.
  • Responsibility for archiving and filing all relevant materials from each board meeting.
  • Ensuring items approved at company board meetings are processed with the registered agent, including name changes, allotment of shares and other changes to the group companies.
  • Making processes more efficient through the use of technology.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, iManage/Worksite and familiarity with document review databases.
  • Ability to perform electronic research using Westlaw and/or Lexis.

Education and experience

  • Degree qualified (2.1 and above); Law degree or LPC.
