Job Description

Are you a graduate with an eye for detail or currently a specifications technologist needing a change of scene in a growing business?

Your role will be to create fit for purpose packaging specifications (including the packaging section of Bought-In Finished Goods) that are the source data to ensure Premier Foods meets current and foreseeable regulatory requirements and business targets eg ESG, Plastics Tax, PRN/EPR, internal and external reporting. The role involves requesting, processing and reviewing packaging specifications from packaging suppliers via the Hamilton Grant based specification system and working with packaging development teams to approve specifications. Identify gaps in packaging data by linking datasets and modify specification templates to capture data. Ensure provision of specifications and identifying data gaps is conducted in a timely manner and to the correct Gold standard as well as ongoing maintenance to ensure source data are correct, accurate and to the agreed standard

  • Degree - science, maths based
  • GCSE/A levels pass as a minimum (Essential)
  • Good organisational/Administration skills (Essential)
  • Ability to manage and input data accurately and efficiently (Essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, literacy and numeracy
  • IT competent - in particular, Excel, and use of data and databases, SAP.
  • Ability to work without supervision and on own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and participate in and contribute to multiple projects
What you’ll be doing...?
  • Requesting, checking, processing and maintaining packaging and Bought In Finished Goods (packaging section) specifications held in the Hamilton Grant specification database as required in conjunction with internal teams and packaging suppliers
  • Working with Packaging Development teams to approve final specifications.
  • Identifying gaps in packaging data and modifying specification templates to capture data.
  • Linking datasets to identify gaps in source data (specifications)
  • Reporting on data held, gaps and how to fill gaps.
  • Ensuring all necessary information on the packaging specification is completed thus enabling the generation of accurate packaging data related reports, finished product specifications and product labels which meet with all relevant legislation.
  • Dealing directly with Premier Foods packaging suppliers as required.
