As an Operations Officer in the South West you will support the operational delivery and development of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) through managing a portfolio of Licensed Organisations (LOs). These LOs are mostly schools but we also work with other organisations such as colleges, local authorities, youth groups and prisons.

We very rarely work directly with young people undertaking their DofE Award. Instead, your role will be to support partner organisations setting up and developing their own DofE programmes.

The role will be field-based, and you will be expected to visit organisations within your portfolio regularly. When not attending meetings, employees work from home where you will need to have an appropriate home office set up and live within a reasonable distance of the portfolio area of Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and parts of Dorset

What we are looking for:

We want to recruit a personable and passionate team player and collaborator. You will have experience with stakeholder and account management. Experience of working with diverse groups is also an advantage.

You will need to have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively inspire and influence internal and external stakeholders to enable young people to participate in DofE.

To undertake the role, you’ll need to be exceptionally organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and have excellent administrative skills, being both computer literate and competent in MS Office applications.

You will be a passionate advocate for the work of the DofE to give more than one million young people the chance to participate in our life-changing programmes, over the next five years.

What will you get in return?

The opportunity to work for a successful and dynamic charity that has the development of young people at its heart and the wellbeing and development of its people constantly in focus.

You will be joining a team of empowered colleagues working together.

A starting salary of between £27,000 - £30,428 per annum, dependent on experience.

From day one we offer excellent staff benefits including a competitive salary, generous pension, volunteering days, Healthcare cash plan and an employee assistance programme.

Through our Flexible Working policy, the DofE provides an opportunity to work flexibly to meet yours and our business needs.
