We are looking for our next Operations Manager to lead our Nespresso contract based in Wellingborough. We are a 24/7 operation processing 100,000 orders weekly, so never a quiet moment! You’ll manage 2 shift managers, 8 team leaders and up to 170 operatives. With accountability for all departmental activity including health & safety, KPIs, continuous improvement, training, team development and engagement. You’ll work Monday to Friday (0900 – 1700) but we would expect a degree of flexibility.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Lead and drive the operation from the front, ensuring compliance, performance and the delivery of a world-class service to our customer
  • Set, agree and manage objectives and KPI’s with direct reports to achieve a ‘best in class’ operation
  • Measure and review operational performance against company and customer KPI’s and implement appropriate actions to seek continuous improvement
  • Drive communication, engagement and continuous improvement throughout the warehouse with a constant focus on reviewing and improving processes


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • Previous experience as an operations manager with exposure to FMCG logistics and E commerce
  • Good PC skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook along with knowledge of creating and interrogating spreadsheets and data
  • The ability to effectively inspire, lead and develop a large, diverse operational team
  • Excellent commercial acumen with a flexible and can-do approach
  • Customer focused with confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
