Job Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of all piling operatives and the delivery of piling projects.

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure that the requirements of projects are delivered in all areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the take off and delivery of all piling projects and communication with customers of the progress of piling projects.
  • Responsible for the accurate documentation of all construction activities prior to attending site and upon completion of a project.
  • Works closely with the sales team to ensure that all project requirements are met.
  • Works closely with the sales team to ensure that all construction costs are accurately billed and that all project costs are properly collected.
  • Works closely with the accounts team to ensure that all construction materials are purchased as needed.
  • Ensures that all project costs are properly budgeted and tracked throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensures that all materials used in a project are accounted for in relation to use on site, return of excess material and stock of material stored within the warehouse.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, etc. about any changes in schedule or cost projections.
  • Completes any additional tasks as requested by Project Managers or superiors.
  • Management of piling operatives in rleation to training, performance reviews, ongoing feedback, work records & disciplinaries.
  • To visit sites as required to ensure sites are ready for piling & to complete spot checks on sites for quality of work & piling operative adherence to health & safety.
  • To ensure health and safety standards are met by piling operatives.
  • To recruit & onboard piling operatives as per the needs of the business.
  • Organise repairs and maintenance for vehicles, plant and equipment.

Required Skills:
·Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
·Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro software (Required).
·Proficient in Windows-based computers operating systems (operating system installation & configuration).
·Proficient in general office equipment (copier, scanner, fax machine, etc.).

Experience:

  • Previous & demonstratable experience of managing a team in areas such as performance reviews, disciplinaries, training etc.
  • Construction industry experience

Must have management experience and be able to manage a team of operatives.

Must have an interest in developing the piling operatives, as a company we invest heavily in consistent training of our piling operatives and a desire to see these operatives develop and grow is essential as this is one of the most rewarding parts of this role.

Must be extremely organised and have excellent communication skills.

Must have strong computer skills.

Must be able to think for themselves and implement new systems to improve the role.

Must have construction experience.

Must have a valid driving license.
