General Purpose of Role
:
The Operations Manager represents the Operations department at a Senior Management level and represents the site to the wider PCI Group ensuring that PCI Bridgend’s operational activities are effective and efficiently implemented while maintaining excellent levels of customer, staff, and supplier satisfaction.
The Operations Manager supports and develops the sites processes and continuous improvement initiatives within operations and supports cross functional leaders and employees to strive for operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure operational KPIs are achieved and delivered in line with site and business targets.
  • Oversee and liaise with suppliers for operational consumables as required to support day to day requirements.
  • Maintain constant focus on customer satisfaction to deliver quality products on time and in full.
  • Monitor and control the Operations department budget to ensure good cost control.
  • Support Business Development where required to give operational support during client site visits, calls or bid defence meetings.
  • Provide operational oversight for SQDCP assessment of new business and technical review of proposal documentation.
  • Ensure that operational areas are audit ready at all times.
  • Coordinate stock checks of both PCI and client owned material, both upon request and as part of an on-going cycle count programme.
  • Ensure all areas are compliant and adhering to Health and Safety rules for the site.
  • Support and implement succession plans for site headcount and career growth.
  • Focus on ensuring high levels of team engagement, motivation and satisfaction are maintained.
Previous Work Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a senior operational role within the life science sector.
  • Significant experience managing multiple teams simultaneously.
Specific Qualifications:
  • Known Consignor experience.
  • Experience of ensuring Health and Safety regulations and standards are met within Operations environment.
  • Ideally educated to ILM 5 or foundation degree level (or equivalent) with GCSE in English or Maths (or equivalent) or the ability to demonstrate business level literacy and numeracy skills.
Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence:
  • An excellent understanding of Quality Standards including GMP, GCP and GDP.
  • Working to Standard Operating procedures.
  • Ability to manage, lead and inspire teams.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and reasoning skills.
  • IT literate with good knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office applications and internet functionality.
  • Attention to detail.
