Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working in partnership with a world-leading, highly successful, technology-led manufacturing business who are looking for an Operations Manager for their West Yorkshire facility.This exciting opportunity comes as the business is looking to bolster its senior leadership team with a passionate, experienced and driven individual to help push the business forward.
Job Description
The Operations Manager will form part of the senior leadership team of this impressive, world-wide manufacturing business and will have full responsibility for all manufacturing operations including production, maintenance, CI, H&S and training.Reporting directly into the General Manager, you will be tasked with leading and developing a culture of success through a team of 7 direct reports, and a wider team of 100+.Other day to day responsibilities will include:
- Developing the wider team through a developing and mentoring Shift Managers across different departments
- Ensuring customer satisfaction is at the forefront of operational decisions
- Leading and directing continuous improvement projects to achieve strategic and operational business goals
- Driving OEE and OTIF targets
- Standardising working methods across multi-skilled departments
- Utilising data to analyse operational performance of production machinery, identifying issues and planning corrective actions
- Promote a positive safety-first culture across all manufacturing operations
Successful candidates will have a strong operational background in a manufacturing environment and a proven ability in leading and developing teams.You will also possess:
- Demonstratable understanding of CI Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations
- Capability to influence people at all levels of the business
- Proven track record of problem solving
- Behavioural H&S mindset
- 5 years’ experience in a managerial role is preferred
- Up to £55k, depending upon experience
- Up to 10% performance related bonus
- Long term progression opportunities
