Summary

As an Operations Manager you will manage change activity and communicate proposed changes with staff and stakeholders. Setting and monitoring operational performance and ensure that all operations and projects align with strategic objectives, comply with relevant control strategies and oversee the update of risk registers. Providing operational support, advice and guidance to Police throughout the UK into investigations of serious crime. Ensuring local/national strategy, policy, legislative frameworks and operational priorities are developed and promoted amongst National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Law Enforcement partners and government departments. Building good working relationships with both internal and external partners including other law enforcement agencies.

Job description

NCA Investigative teams respond to a broad range of threats including Organised Immigration Crime, Cyber Dependant Crime, Fraud, Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Abuse, Firearms and Drugs, International Corruption Unit, as well as having Internal Professional Standards teams. Investigations are undertaken in a varied and dynamic environment, identifying intelligence and evidential opportunities to progress investigations.

***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. the successful candidate will have the ability to obtain DV enhanced clearance within 12 months of being in post. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. Responsibilities

The additional key responsibilities of the Operational Manager Investigations role are:

  • To perform the role of Senior Investigating Officer, leading and managing complex investigations and projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of Case Decision Logs.
  • Conduct covert operations both nationally and internationally utilising relevant legislation.
  • Complete detailed Risk Assessments in support of operational activity.
  • Manage Threat To Life (TTL) situations using the National Decision Making Model and TTL Tracking documents.
  • Manage sensitive intelligence products.
  • Plan, prepare and carry out days of action to arrest subjects involved in serious and organised crime.

Licences

  • Full DVLA Driving Licence (includes Full EU Licences).

Qualifications

The following qualifications/skills are essential to the role and proof will be required at interview:

  • PIP2 Supervisor or equivalent level experience.
