Devon Norse represents the highly successful joint venture partnership between Norse Group and Devon County Council, providing a range of facilities management and contract services across the South West. We partner with several private and public sector clients across the region to deliver award winning services including cleaning, catering and caretaking.

We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager – FM, to join our team based in Exeter.

As an Operations Manager you will be working closely with the Head of TFM, to provide support and lead the FM department in the strategic direction, mobilisation and implementation of a multitude of services across a multi-site portfolio.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the FM service, ensuring that services provided to customers meet the agreed standards, assisting with the annual budget setting for the division and providing direct line management to FM teams in a multitude of different locations.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent relationships building skills, both with colleagues over a multi-site environment as well as with clients. Your ability to communicate effectively, motivate a team and successfully negotiate will be important to the role.

Our ideal candidate

  • Extensive experience of managing multi-site & multi-disciplined teams
  • Commercially aware with financial and budgetary experience
  • Experience procuring subcontractors
  • Previous experience of managing heritage sites
  • Knowledgeable of Health & Safety legislation
  • Proven experience as a facilities manager or relevant position
  • Well versed in technical / engineering operations and facilities management best practises
  • Relevant professional qualification is desirable

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems will also be an advantage. You will also need a full UK driving license to meeting the travel requirements of the position, as well as take part in an on-call rota.
