Job Purpose and Impact

Location: Liverpool (Speke) L24 8RB or Worksop, (S80 2RS) or York (YO31 8BA)

Cargill’s cocoa & chocolate business creates products for chocolate, confectionery and food manufacturers across the globe, producing cocoa powder, butter and liquor as well as coatings, fillings and chocolate for industrial applications. Our presence in the UK today is in Liverpool (chocolate, coatings & fillings), in Worksop (chocolate) and York (cocoa).

The Operations Director will provide strategic operational oversight for 3 UK production facilities (Liverpool, Worksop and York). The role will ensure standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance are met, through the empowerment and coaching of the UK teams. The position holder will have the opportunity to help move our sites towards best in class.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and ensure all 3 UK sites operate safely and in compliance with regulatory and internal safety and quality standards
  • Oversee the execution of consistent and quality products through the site-based Production, FSQR and Supply Chain teams
  • Responsible for meeting commercial budgets in partnership with the commercial teams
  • Responsible for strategy execution, management and compliance of capital and operation budgets
  • Change Management, ensuring change is championed, understood and supported
  • Motivating, mentoring and coaching cross functional teams ensuring engagement and longer-term succession planning
  • Maintaining a culture that is focused on operational and people excellence
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A degree in a relevant subject area
  • Proven managerial experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within a multi-site/ matrixed environment
  • An authentic communicator able to empower and develop cross functional teams
  • Results orientated with a sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Ability to embed change and deliver continuous improvement
