DB Search has been retained by one of the fastest-growing global businesses in the region who are seeking a forward-thinking Operations Director to strengthen its team. With ambitious plans to scale the business over the coming three years with a 5x increase in revenue, this role must be able to implement robust processes and procedures that can support the current business and execute its growth plans.

The Operations Director will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership to develop and implement global strategies that transform the business capabilities in supply chain, production, and quality. The goal is to embed robust processes which not only are fit for purpose now but also support high levels of growth and future business targets. This role has 6 direct reports.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver world-class operations function to achieve competitive advantage which will be measured through OTIF to achieve the goal of world-class customer service
  • Design, develop and implement robust strategies that continually improve manufacturing, quality, supply chain organisations in an inhouse and outsourced manufacturing environment
  • Ensure operations design/team/processes are scalable and can support high levels of growth and the future business requirements
  • Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy that ensures delivery of high-quality products, optimises inventory management and reduces costs
  • Develop and embed a continuous process improvement environment across all aspects of production, assembly, quality, safety, supply chain and manufacturing
  • Ensure efficient operation of both in-house and outsourced manufacturing facilities
  • Understand and implement appropriate technology or new ways of working to automate and digitise logistics and warehousing with the goal of driving improvements between production and sales planning
  • Develop and manage the Operations operating and capital budgets, P&L, and revenue
  • Partner with key stakeholders and contribute to board-level discussions on overall business strategy and day-to-day business activities
  • Support your team to develop key supplier relationships further to deliver on cost and delivery improvement programmes, reducing stock, working capital, lead times, back-order reduction and scheduling
  • Building long-term relationships with key suppliers to improve contingency planning and sustainability in packaging and logistics
  • Developing accurate and robust reporting tools and KPIs which support the objectives of the organisation
  • Empower your team to reduce excess and eradicate obsolete stock
  • Actively engaged in team-based practical problem-solving issues and support the team related to quality, material, machine downtime etc. and ensuring corrective actions are executed
  • Develop and nurture close relationships with product management, warehouse and commercial teams to deliver the new product objectives that drive revenue growth
  • Lead, coach and support team members to maximise performance and drive the right culture through the organisation
  • Lead projects related to employee engagement, succession planning and futureproofing the organisation
