The Operational Project Manager is primarily an advocate of change within the business and must personally utilise and develop effective process and project management skills across multiple workstreams. As a key part of a fast-paced dynamic team, the Operational Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Operational Teams are aligned to business strategic objectives and consistently working to plan and timescale during the rollout phases.DutiesIncluding, but not limited to:
  • Be the main point of contact for all stakeholders in the business, building relationships with key workstream leads by assisting / chairing and/or facilitating key weekly project meetings alongside Project Managers.
  • Work with Programme & Project Management team to drive new initiatives within the business to help drive both smoother adoption and governance.
  • Responsible for maintaining project plans, meeting outputs, scoping requirements and resource budget alongside the Project Managers, ensuring synergies are tracked and within project budgets.
  • Working with operational managers to embed changes within the business. Identifying what changes in processes, procedures and practices are needed to achieve change and deliver the planned benefits.
  • Responsible for working with Programme Implementation teams to help create system deployment roll out plans in agreement with Senior Leadership Teams and Operational Directors for agreed Projects.
  • Facilitate and conduct project workshops to define Project strategy for each workstream with clear actions and milestones captured.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with local and regional & central stakeholders at all levels
  • Ensure the team have the right skills and development to succeed in leading change, enabling each team member the autonomy to work independently throughout the project.
  • Assist and control in the build, review, upkeep and adaption of project plans as required to ensure all tasks are captured and on track throughout the programme.
  • Management and coordination of multiple workstreams to ensure dependencies throughout project are considered and managed inline for full project plan.
  • Help drive continuous improvement by working with change and project management teams to help build and design new products and features.
  • Manage core project management lifecycle throughout implementation – including (Milestone Management, weekly Highlight report, RAID, Change Requests and Synergy Tracking).
  • Identifying suitable communication strategies and building on these, reviewing the plans and delivering reports to the executives.
  • Constructing cases which initiate change, understanding and projecting specific benefits to come from these changes.
  • Document project evaluations and result measurement in readiness to handover to business as usual post go live.

  • Confident and natural communicator with an inspiring quality
  • Proven working experience in project management environment
  • Change management experience, including communications, engagement, and behavioural and cultural change
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Organising and overseeing change programmes and plans
  • Logical and efficient
  • An excellent understand of customer service principles and practice
  • Proven track record of coaching and supporting a diverse team across a wide geography
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Very strong organisational and time management skills, able to demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines while working in a high-pressure environment
  • Be able to work on your own without the need for constant supervision
  • Ability to solve problems- both independently and by working with teams across the company
  • A strong operational awareness, with an ability to understand situations from a user’s point of view
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to drive high performing teams
  • Able to influence across the organisation, effectively leading change, initiating ideas and championing and gaining commitment
