We are looking at introducing a more restorative approach to child protection conferences to make these more family friendly, so families are encouraged to take ownership of their plans to achieve positive change as well as developing this into practice by providing high support, high challenge so that families receive the best possible service.

About The Role

You will provide leadership and management to our dedicated team of Child Protection Chairs and ensure the timeliness and effectiveness of multiagency child protection conferences across the county

Manage the day-to-day delivery of the CP Chair team’s core functions, working closely with operational managers at all levels in the organisation to ensure that the Local Authority fulfils its responsibilities for safeguarding children in need of protection.

Support the CP Chairs in their quality assurance work to ensure robust multi-agency working and child protection planning for children at risk is in place.

Provide expert advice and guidance to front line staff on the complex issues of safeguarding and support effective challenge.

Lead initiatives to design and deliver on both new ways of working and on identified project work within the service and across the multi-agency safeguarding network.

About You

You will bring with you excellent organisational skills, the ability to multitask and meet demanding targets.

A social work qualification, proven experience of looked after children and the statutory reviewing process is essential. Whilst having an excellent understanding of the issues affecting children and young people, their families, and carers.
