The Online Commercial Strategy Analyst will be at the forefront of understanding M&S.com, and market data performance and drivers, proactively identifying key trends and communicating them in an engaging manner to the business to inspire changes


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASURES

  • Interrogate digital analytics data with the aim of:
  • Supporting in the creation and measurement of internal strategy – ensuring we are utilising the right data to drive our decision making and strategic intention
  • Making recommendations to support the business in making more effective buying and ranging decisions
  • Be at the forefront of understanding current performance trends and championing this in M&S.com and wider business
  • Identifying actionable recommendations from the data and communicate these confidently to senior stakeholders across M&S.com and the wider business
  • Create excellent relationships within the Online Commercial, Trading and Business Unit teams, as well as the wider Analytics teams across the business, identifying key areas of focus and value-add opportunities
  • Champion and proactively identify areas of improvement, putting data at the heart of M&S.com decisions
  • Work as part of a dynamic and collaborative analytics team to shape the digital analytics data architecture (i.e. best practice, policies and KPI definitions)
  • Present analytical findings in a visually compelling manner, with action-oriented recommendations that answer key business questions
  • Understand the data landscape and available tools to ensure you are working in the most efficient way, calling on the experience of the wider team where appropriate

KEY SKILLS

  • Experience or knowledge of using SQL to combine data sources essential
  • Experience with Analytics and/or reporting preferably in an e-commerce environment
  • Strong experience in working with internal Customer & Market Data
  • Strong analytical mind set and skills, specifically demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to varying audiences
  • Possess excellent presentation skills, with the ability to influence colleagues and cross-functional teams
  • Strong organisational skills and attention for detail
  • Experience of utilising visualisation tools desirable
  • Self-motivated individual who is keen to learn within a team
